How difficult is it to pass the Life in the UK Test?

Updated: Dec 9, 2023

That’s a difficult question to answer! It is certainly important to prepare for the test, if you try taking the test without any preparation you are very unlikely to pass. I have had students who have come to me after trying the test without preparation and have been shocked at the difficult questions they were asked on history, the law, the government etc.

And so, it is important to find a way to understand the information in the official handbook – this is what they advise you to do on the Government website, they say:

You’ll be tested on information in the official handbook for the Life in the UK Test. You should study it to prepare for the test.

- and this is exactly what we do on my training course!

Having taught a training course for the Life in the UK test over many years and always asked my students for feedback on the questions they were asked, in my experience there are set of questions that come up frequently in the test – for example they often ask where William Shakespeare was born; and there is another set of questions, often particularly difficult questions, that come up somewhat less frequently. On my course I make sure I cover the more frequently asked questions, and the less frequent, often even more difficult ones.

And that’s why on my course I can guarantee to cover all that you need to know to pass the test, and why almost all my students pass the Life in the UK test after taking my course.
